FAQ | Troyan Data

API Access & Data

How do I receive API credentials?

API credentials are issued once a subscription has been confirmed.

During onboarding, the Troyan Data team will provide authentication details along with relevant endpoint documentation and environment notes. Credentials are issued per client and should be treated as confidential. For managed or enterprise integrations, access may be staged alongside implementation support.

How do I get more details about Troyan Data or request access?

If you would like more information, pricing details, or access to the platform, complete the enquiry form with your contact details and a brief description of your intended use.A member of the Troyan Data team will review your request and contact you to discuss requirements, coverage, and next steps.

Are there request or rate limits?

Yes. Basic API access is throttled to 2 calls per second.

This limit is designed to protect platform stability and ensure fair usage across clients. For integrations that require higher throughput or low latency access, Troyan Data strongly recommends ingesting the required datasets into your own database and serving them internally.Alternative access patterns and higher limits may be available depending on subscription tier and use case.

Refresh timing varies by data type and lifecycle stage.

  • CORE

Core datasets such as racecards are available shortly after final acceptances are confirmed.

  • DAILY

The day before an event, comments and derived content are generated and published.

  • LIVE

Scratchings are updated as they become available and may occur at irregular intervals.

  • FORWARD

Forward datasets and early market information are refreshed on a scheduled basis, with update frequency increasing as the event date approaches. Exact timings are documented per endpoint.

Note on Odds: Odds data is not provided in real time. Where available, odds represent morning or pre post indicative lines only and should be treated as a guide rather than a live market.
